Oh What A Day

So I try not to make this a babbling blog, BUT I have had a not so wonderful day. SO I needed to vent. Last night hubby had his turn as putting my 16 month old to bed (we alternate so that we each get to take turns doing the bath then bed thing). An hour after DS went down he started crying, not typical of him, he cried for maybe 10 minutes, but went back to sleep. He did this several times before I finally went up there at 10:30 and he had sharted, so he needed his diaper changed. I changed him, rocked him, put him back in his bed.


2:30 am rolls around. I hit hubby and tell him "your turn" after ehh...30 minutes of hitting him to get up, he rolls out of bed and comes back an hour later. Maybe just wanted to cuddle? Who knows. He IS sprouting a couple of more teeth, so this certainly could have been it, but none-the-less, not normal for him. Since I stopped nursing, he has been sleeping through the night, with no problems, so I am not sure what happened.


Anyhoo, I wake up at the alarm at 6:30 and ya know what shows up Aunt Flow! Now, the only reason that I am even bringing this up is because she is 6 days early from last month and I had my pretty pink thongs on (fingers crossed that they are not ruined), but I am just not liking this never knowing when she is going to pop up. At the beginning I stopped taking birth control pills. This was after the pills, IUD, and ring. It appears that my body will spot CONSTANTLY when I am on any form of birth control. And that just plain sucks. SO I decided to start tracking it myself, I mean OTHER women do this with great success. I downloaded an app for my phone (Period Diary), and I have been using this since (it can track all symptoms, weight, temp, etc) and this particular CLEARLY stated AF was to arrive in SEVEN days, not this morning. Now, with that being said my cycle is all out of whack since I have been on BC for so long, but I guess I didn't realize to what extent.


And to make matters worse I am pretty sure I have a UTI. I haven't had one in so long and I am so miserable. Now I recognize that things could be worse, but I think first day of unknown AF, severe lack of sleep, and a UTI all within a couple hours just made this day pretty crappy. I hope everyone else had a great Wednesday!!

PhotoTrax Review and Giveaway!

As most of you know I am pretty new to the blogging scene, but I have found it to be a kind of calming. Getting to share my life with others. What’s for dinner, what the kids are up to, and the BEST thing is GIVEAWAYS. I mean, who doesn’t like to get something for NOTHING right?

So, I saw the opportunity to review a product called PhotoTrax. I went to their webpage and saw all of the really cool things you could do with these and how actually inexpensive they are. So when I was picked to be able to review them I was pretty excited and eagerly awaited for their arrival.

So since hubby gets Saturdays to do what he wants, I was able to get to get these up and photo’s in them today! My package came with 4, which each hold 3 4x6 photo’s. These things literally took 2 minutes to put up, they even came with the removable sticky tabs. With that being said, these can literally be put anywhere, even in apartments where you may not be able to put in nails.

My mom noticed them as soon as she walked into the living room and commented on how cool they are. I got right on PhotoTrax website to show her how really awesome these look. If there wasn’t a window behind my bed I would’ve went with that look. These really are a great idea and you can pop in different pictures in a second, which for me, is the best selling point!

OK let me start out by saying that I am new to blogging. The “every blog I have written” could fit on one page new. But with that being said I have come a long way in a very short period, and I am pretty proud of that. I decided about a year ago that I wanted to start my own business, a green business. And not one that is just online, but I want one that a mama could walk into, try on baby carriers, pick up a cloth diaper, and smell some “green” detergents. So I have started the process of “getting there” This has not been easy. I have looked into starting small and online, but still companies want a minimum order of hundreds, which I just do not have. SO I am blogging. And not just out of boredom, but because I want to try every product that I plan on carrying in my store (which I hope to open next year).The title graph was made by Misty and I love it, she knew exactly what I was looking for!

So here for starters I started trying to make a logo. I wanted something cute and green related. I must’ve downloaded DOZENS of software programs to my computer. Very disappointing. Not only was it a ginormous waste of time, but I couldn’t understand what I was doing anyway. But I got lucky. I have several groups that I admin online to buy/sell/trade cloth diapers, fabric, chatter, you name it (I am a cloth addict) and came across a posting by Misty, from Artists Eye Imagery. She was advertising that she does logo’s, websites, etc. And I thought this was my chance!

So I sent Misty a message telling her what I was looking for, and in a matter of HOURS she already had examples for me. I was totally thrilled!! They looked so cute and she did them in several different sizes so that I could use one on my “soon to be” store front. Now because I was so happy with my product, and I LOVE to help a mama out whenever I can have been able to collaborate with her to win a free logo, made by her! 

IN SEARCH OF WAHM'S!!

All of my WAHM's out there. I am looking for you for a couple of different things. Over the last 2 weeks I have done 2 different giveaways and was able to get 400 likes on my FB (www.facebook.com/greenbabygoods), and another 400 followers on twitter (@ericafilson). I have signed up to participate in 2 cloth diaper giveaways. One is in a couple of weeks the other is in May and I am solicitating WAHM's to get some more likes on your FB and to create a giveaway of our own. I have paid into them to get a direction to my page which will then include the giveaway, I will also be posting about it in several groups and tweeting and putting it out in google +. Here is how it will work, you will be providing a product (cloth diaper - new made by you, butt balm, trainer- made by you, whatever it may be) and in turn I will put a "like" link to your page on the rafflecopter form. You can have up to 3 links, examples are twitter, facebook, pinterest, google+ that will give a +1, +2, +3 etc (amount to be determined based on sponsers) and you just provide the product to the winner. You can either provide a specific product to mail to the winner OR a gift card (credit) of any amount to your store. To be fair everything of value must be at least $10, and must be able to purchase an entire item with shipping included. So if you would like to participate please fill out this document. I am also looking for some WAHM's for review. Here is how this works. You send me a product, I review it and then blog about it here. This will get your name out there. I will post about it on my facebook, twitter, and google+, and pin it on pinterest under whatever category it would fall under. Now to get you even more likes I would suggest that you provide something to giveaway yourself. A gift card, product of choice, product of viewers choice. I will put this into a rafflecopter form and direct readers to like, heart on etsy, follow you on twitter, sign up for your emails, whatever it is that you want, to gain entries into the giveaway. I am also going to add entries linking to "enter another giveaway" which should also bring in more likes from my other giveaways that I would have going on.
